What are Userscripts?

Userscripts are JavaScript codes that are executed on a page together with the JavaScript the server delivered to the Browser when the page was requested. It’s called “User”script because it’s a code that exists only in the user’s Browser — the server has no knowledge of that.

These scripts allow for an “augmented browsing” experience, enhancing the page by changing elements in it, adding or removing elements and also functionalities.

Is it safe?

Userscripts can do whatever a JavaScript script can through the Browser, and that means you should only install scripts from trusted sources. We document each JAUS Userscripts in the https://jaus.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JAUS/pages/229379 and ask that you check the source code yourself if still unsure: https://bitbucket.org/jira-admin-userscripts/jaus/src/master/.

Also, you can disable or uninstall any Userscript anytime through the Userscript Manager (more on this on ) and as it’s a Browser Extension, you may disable or uninstall the Userscript Manager entirely any time, too

JAUS is maintained by volunteers, on a volunteering basis. It is not supported by Atlassian, in any way.

Support, improvements and bug fixes are all provided on a casual commitment. The JAUS Team will try their best-effort to support and provide fixes and updates as soon as possible, but can’t commit to SLA or due dates as a commercial service would.
