JAUS Context Button

The JAUS Context Button is a button injected by JAUS in the menu at the top of the page.

It indicates that there’s a JAUS feature available at that screen/page and it’s accessible by either clicking on the button or through the access key “u”.

It also takes about one second after the page’s rendered to appear. This is because it may take a while for the necessary elements to be present in the page so JAUS can interact with them.

Upon pressing the JAUS button, the Userscript related to that screen will execute.

Versions 1.0 of Userscripts inject the first version of “JAUS context button”, which was blue as the “Create” and spelled “JAUS” only. Versions 1.1 onward now inject a yellow button with a label hinting to which Usescript it triggers.

Access Key “u”

JAUS is also accessible through Browser access keys, which are particular to each Browser and each Operating System.

Please refer to this Wikipedia page for a comprehensive list of all access keys.

Which Userscript will be executed

JAUS is designed to have specific Userscripts for each page/screen. This is why it’s called a “Context Button” - it’ll execute different Userscripts depending on the context (ie. page or screen).

If JAUS ever bundles more than one Userscript per page/screen, this page will be updated accordingly. It’s not yet decided if there would be two JAUS buttons or a light box for Userscript selection would popup.

Userscript version

Upon placing the mouse overt the JAUS Context Button, a tooltip will show which version of the active Userscript’s installed.

Userscripts that also show some light box when triggered will have the version somewhere in the box, too.
